Patterns Made for Your Body,
Not a Size Chart
People's Patterns generates sewing patterns from your measurements — not from a standardized size that was never designed to fit you.
The Problem with Standard Sizes
Commercial sewing patterns are built on a small set of body proportions that represent no one perfectly. The result: you buy a size based on your widest measurement, then spend hours grading between sizes, adding a full seat adjustment, raising a back waist, shortening a rise, removing ease that doesn't belong. People's Patterns skips all of that.
How It Works
- Measure. Ten to fifteen measurements — chest, waist, hip, rise, inseam, and a few more depending on the garment. Takes about ten minutes with a tape measure.
- Generate. Our parametric drafting engine calculates every seam, dart, and curve from your numbers. No lookup tables. The pattern is drawn fresh for your body.
- Sew. Download a print-ready tiled PDF, assemble the pages, and cut. Everything is labeled and includes construction instructions.
The Patterns
We currently offer 23 garments across menswear and womenswear — shorts, trousers, jeans, shirts, tops, skirts, and dresses. Every garment is priced by construction complexity: simple builds start at $9, detailed tailored pieces at $19. Your first pattern is free.
Every pattern includes a tiled PDF for home printing, a full materials list, a stitch and notions guide, step-by-step instructions, and a scale verification page. Re-downloads are always free from your account.
Who Makes This
People's Patterns is built and run by a small team that sews. We got tired of patterns that fit the envelope illustration but not actual humans, and decided to build something better. The drafting engine is written from scratch using parametric geometry — no AI generation, no digital tracing of existing patterns.
We're based online, reachable at hello@peoplespatterns.com, and active on social media where we share what we make and how we make it.
